Description Febrifugine is a quinazolinone alkaloid first isolated from the Chinese herb Dichroa febrifuga, but also found in the garden plant Hydrangea.Febrifugine has antimalarial properties and the synthetic halogenated derivative halofuginone is used in veterinary medicine as a coccidiostat.
