  • Biological Activity
Description Tyrosol is a fungicide that increases pulmonary superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and decreases pulmonary macrophage and neutrophil infiltration, edema, inflammation, and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in acute lung injury. It reduces aqueous humor TNF-α, nitric oxide (NO), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) levels and cellular infiltration in a rat model of ocular endotoxin-induced uveitis (EIU). Tyrosol also decreases erythrocyte aggregation, increases the oxygen transport capacity index (OTCI), and abolishes cortical microvascular rarefaction in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
