Description | D-Aspartic acid is a kind of non-essential amino acid found in food sources and dietary supplements. It is an endogenous NMDA receptor agonist and has similar activity to the L-isomer. It is also a non-metabolizable substrate for EAA uptake systems. It adjusts melatonin synthesis in the pineal gland. It may be used as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of schizophrenia-related symptoms. | ||
